Following some impressive team performances, FaZe are through to the playoffs of the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
Their qualification came for the playoffs came from a confident 2-0 win over The MongolZ, we spoke to their coach NEO about what will be next for FaZe as they prepare for the playoffs.
You've now made it to the playoffs, how are you feeling?
It feels great, it's my third Major as a coach, we've made two finals so far, and we're playing really good so it feels like we can at least do the same thing again, but it's CS so you never know.
It feels like there's still some games it doesn't all click for you guys, is it now down to just fixing those issues ahead of the arena games?
I think that's always the case with such experienced players and it's part of the game, I guess. When there's room for some chill time, that's what happens with people.
But yeah, it's really nice to see that when it matters the most, everybody steps up and contributes to the game and we can play really good CS.
As a result of qualifying today you'll have some time off ahead of the playoffs, what do your next few days look like as the coach of the team?
We're probably just going to focus on rewatching the games, talk about what has happened and try to do some things better. Also, there's a little bit of prep I need to do, we'll still need to figure out the schedule, squeeze in some practice games, too.
Outside of the server we've seen you on dad duty here at the Major, is it going to be special for you for your family to be able to see you on a stage again?
For sure, they've come to a couple of tournaments with me and they're always cheering and supportive. I'm grateful for the support from not only them, but also the family I have at home who are watching every game. I'm a happy man.
