What. A. Game.
That first quarter-final here in Austin felt like the grand final as both teams used up everything they had in order to decide a victor.
Featuring an incredible game of Mirage with multiple overtimes, this series was one for the ages, so let's take a look at all the action.
Spirit started exceptionally well on their CT side, they made MOUZ's attack look Silver level as they raced to a 5-0 lead.
MOUZ picked up some rounds eventually, though. A big play from Jimpphat helped them secure a second.
They fought back to just a 5-6 deficit, and could have easily taken us into the break with a level score, but donk stuck the defuse in the 1v1 in order to give Spirit a two round lead as they moved onto their T side.
11-7 down, donk was letting Spirit go down without a fight, he hit some crazy headshots to give Spirit their eighth.
Despite having four map points, Spirit kept fighting back, taking us to OT as they converted a 2v4.
With map point again, everyone thought MOUZ would win as zont1x was left in a 1v3. However, the Ukrainian had other ideas.
Now facing losing the map, MOUZ needed a huge round of their own to stay in the map, and Spinx came up big to keep them alive.
And that wasn't his only clutch moment, he combined with xertioN to secure another map point in the 2v5.
But Spirit were just too strong, magixx picked up another huge clutch for his team to take map point thanks to a flawless CT side.
That flawless CT side was enough for Spirit to take the map 25-21, donk topped the server with a 37-32 statline.
Heading into Dust2 and starting on their T side, MOUZ would need a miracle in order to nullify the impact of donk and sh1ro.
They had a harder time doing so with donk, but Jimpphat did manage to prevent him from picking up an ace clutch to help secure MOUZ a seventh round.
8-4 up at the half, MOUZ kept pushing, soon finding themselves with a 12-8 lead once again.
And just like in the first map, that 12-8 lead didn't guarantee the instant map win, even on the low buy Spirit were able to keep themselves in the game.
However, unlike Mirage, MOUZ did manage to convert their map points into a map win, they took it in the next round with a 13-9 scoreline and a strong team performance that reduced donk's 23 kills to little more than statpadding.
With it all left to play for on Nuke, Spirit got off to another strong start on their CT side. donk was frying, he was picking up frags like it was deathmatch as MOUZ repeatedly tried to test him Outside.
8-4 down at the half, Brollan was not having a good game as he was 0-14 at one point, but at least xertioN and Jimpphat were combining to pull off round to keep the MOUZ fight back alive.
11-10 up, it looked like Spirit would be able to level the score, but xertioN came up clutch on the A site to secure his team a 12th.
MOUZ won the series in the very next round with a 13-10 scoreline, Spinx was integral to that win, he massively topfragged the final map with 27 kills to see his team through to the semi-finals.
